Every computer that is connected to the internet has an IP address. Whenever you’re connecting your computer to the internet , an IP address is automatically assigned to your computer by Internet service provider.
IP address lets internet service provider to easily identify the location and user of the device. In this post, we’ll show you how to find your computer IP address without installing any other third party software.
You can find your IP address in any one of the following ways,
- Finding IP address using Search engines
- finding IP address using IP scanning websites
- finding IP address using Control panel
How to find IP address using Search engines
To find IP address using search engines, open any web browser like Google chrome or Mozilla and then,
Step 1: Go to Google.com, type any one of the following terms in the search box and hit Enter
- “IP address“
- “My IP address“
- “what is my IP“
- “find my IP“
Step 2: After hitting the Enter button, Google will display your IP address at the top of search results as shown in the below image,
You can also use other search engines like Bing, Yahoo or DuckDuckGo to find your IP address. All you have to do is type any one of the above-mentioned terms in those search engines and hit enter.

How to find IP Address using IP Scanning Websites
Using IP scanning websites like Whatismyipaddress.com, you can easily find the IP address of your computer in a single click.
Step 1: Go to Whatismyipaddress.com
At the top of the page, your IP address will be displayed as shown in the above image.
How to find IP Address through Windows Control panel
For Windows 10
Step 1: On your computer, Press Windows + R to open Run window, type “control panel” and click Ok
Step 2: Once the Control panel opens, click on view network status and tasks under Network & Internet option
Step 3: Now click on the connection name you’ve connected to under the view active networks section
Step 4: Once the properties window appears, click on Details.
The IP address of computer will be displayed as shown in the below image
For Windows 7
Step 1: On your Windows 7 PC, click on start > Control panel
Step 2: Now on the control panel, click on view network status and tasks under Network & Internet option
Step 3: Then click on the network name you’ve connected to.
Step 4: Once the properties window appears, click on Details
Step 5: On the details window, your IP address will be displayed as shown in the below image
